We like to keep up with all the latest beauty trends here at Leaf Lifestyle and this latest one might just surprise you because it makes us of a spice that most people will have stored away in their kitchen cupboard.

The secret ingredient is apparently paprika. If you add this common spice to a homemade mask that includes honey, you will soon be on the way to the healthy glow, you might only get from a hard running or hillwalking session.

This is because paprika is a vasodilator which means that it actually widens the blood vessels in your face which results in making your face look flushed. Alongside this, paprika – despite just being a spice you add to make your food taste hotter – is also loaded with all sorts of vitamins including vitamins C and A.  There are even claims that it has antibacterial and anti-oxidant properties which are all very good for the skin.

If the thought of putting paprika on your face makes you anxious, then you can always include more of the spice in your diet. Paprika is highly versatile and can be used in a variety of dishes from soups to humus and of course sauces to give them an extra kick.
