Let’s face it, we all tend to look healthier in the summer when the sun’s rays provide those extra vitamins we all need to keep us full of vitality. The downside is, the sun’s rays can be harmful to the skin as can hot, dry weather. You could try all or any of these tips this summer to make sure your skin stays radiant.

Wear plenty of sunscreen

90% of wrinkles are caused by sun exposure, so the more you leave your skin exposed, the older you are going to appear, particularly when you’re beyond your 20s. Wrinkles are of course an inevitable part of ageing, but you can keep them at bay by using a high protection factor sunscreen.

Wash makeup brushes and sponges

Makeup brushes and sponges collect a lot of bacteria over time if they are not cleaned. This can cause problems with your skin such as breakouts so it is worth cleaning them regularly.

Use retinol

Retinol is the closing thing to a magic bullet available for keeping your skin firm and youthful. It can even reverse sun damage according to the experts. Unfortunately this kind of effectiveness doesn’t come cheap and you will be paying £40 plus for some products. On the up side, dermatologists say that if you only use one anti-aging product, use retinol.
