Staying beautiful can mean enduring a bit of pain depending on how extreme your treatment. A recent confession by the actress Gwyneth Paltrow shows that some people are willing to endure more than most in their pursuit of perfect skin.

Gwyneth Paltrow, who was recently in the news for her divorce from Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, has launched her own skin care products and during an interview with the New York Times, she revealed that she is prepared to do anything to make her skin look more beautiful.

While most people might opt for a facial, or more extreme cosmetic surgery, Beauty guru Paltrow is happy to try less conventional treatments like bee stings!

Getting even one sting from a bee can be painful and something most of us like to avoid at all costs. Not so for Gwyneth Paltrow who was prepared to be stung several times by bees to test out the effects of an ancient treatment known as apitherapy.

Naturally one treatment was enough for the movie star and she saw it as part of an exploration into alternative treatments. Despite the pain, bee stings are said to promote general well-being, reduce swelling and promote circulation.

We wouldn’t advise trying this yourself – not least if you have an allergy to bee stings!
